As a writer and editor, I spent 20 years behind a computer creating work that usually existed only in cyber space. I had a fun career. I worked in Mexico and Canada, writing about interesting places and the environmental movement.
When I retired from the publishing world, I craved something more tangible. At 60, I returned to university to study art. I started off thinking I would be a painter but eventually made my way to the sculpture and ceramic studio. I’ve been there ever since except when I am in my garden, watching nature create the best sculptures of all. I get all my best ideas there.

En tant qu’écrivain et éditeur, j’ai passé 20 ans derrière un ordinateur à créer des œuvres qui n’existaient généralement que dans le cyberespace. J’ai eu une carrière agréable. J’ai travaillé au Mexique et au Canada, écrivant sur des lieux intéressants et le mouvement environnemental.
Quand j’ai pris ma retraite du monde de l’édition, j’avais envie de quelque chose de plus tangible. À 60 ans, je suis retournée à l’université pour étudier l’art. Au départ, je pensais devenir peintre, mais je me suis finalement orientée vers la sculpture et la céramique. Je n’ai jamais quitté cet atelier, sauf pour aller dans mon jardin, où j’observe la nature créer les plus belles sculptures qui soient. C’est là que me viennent toutes mes meilleures idées.
